What is a Non-Surgical Nose Job?

A liquid rhinoplasty or non-surgical nose job is a simple minimally invasive procedure that involves strategically injecting certain areas of the nose with dermal fillers in order to create much welcome cosmetic enhancements. Since they produce noticeably beautifying results while requiring little to no recovery downtime, non-surgical rhinoplasties are preferred by patients seeking improvements in the way that their nose looks and sits with the remainder of their face, who yet are not currently interested in undergoing a surgical procedure.

Because the results of the procedure are temporary but long-lasting, and because the procedure can be easily reversed if desired, non-surgical nose jobs are often ideal for first-time patients exploring the available options and possibilities when it comes to correcting their nose and creating the face of their dreams.

You don't like your nose, but don't want surgery?

A non-surgical rhinoplasty is a powerful procedure that is done in the office to make aesthetic changes to the nose using filler. In this video, Dr. Vila goes over the most important things you need to know before signing up to have a procedure like a non-surgical rhinoplasty done.

What Products are Used in a Non-Surgical Nose Job?

Unlike a surgical rhinoplasty procedure, a liquid rhinoplasty involves no incisions and removes no tissue, bone, or cartilage in order to produce its results. While this does limit what the procedure can accomplish when compared to its surgical counterpart, the non-surgical rhinoplasty can produce very satisfactory results by using only dermal fillers.

The dermal fillers Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse are most commonly used for the procedure. Restylane and Juvederm are hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid is an important and biocompatible component already found in your body. The molecules of this carbohydrate hold several times their weight in water, helping the skin to appear more youthful and rejuvenated. The last option, Radiesse, is a dermal filler of calcium hydroxyapatite, which spurs your body into producing collagen and elastin.

    Benefits of a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

    • Ideal for patients who don’t need or aren’t yet ready for a surgical nose job
    • Contours the nose without any incisions or evidence of having had work done
    • The anesthetic used helps reduce any pain or discomfort associated with the procedure
    • Results are rapidly reversible (using another injectable) in the rare event a patient desires this

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty, What You Need to Know

Dr. Peter Vila Discusses the Biggest Lessons You Need to Know Before Getting this Procedure

    Am I a Candidate for a Non-Surgical Nose Job?

If you’d like to correct or improve some aspect of the way your nose looks or the way that it integrates with the remainder of your facial features, you are likely a candidate for a liquid rhinoplasty. The best candidates for this procedure are male or female patients who want to improve one or all of the following common concerns:

    • Drooping nasal tip
    • Narrow nasal bridge
    • Non-structural cosmetic deformities of the nose
    • Unnatural or aesthetically displeasing bumps or humps

While a liquid rhinoplasty can produce stunning and natural results, it isn’t the best procedure for patients interested in making more significant changes in their nose, which could require a surgical rhinoplasty. During a personal consultation, Dr. Vila will be able to inform you which of the procedures is best suited to you.

    What is treatment like?

Non-surgical rhinoplasties are done right here in our practice by our fellowship-trained and highly sought-after board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Peter Vila. His extensive experience in facial plastic surgery and intimate understanding of facial and nasal anatomy make him a go-to surgeon for liquid rhinoplasties. The procedure is as follows:

    1. Personal consultation with Dr. Vila, allowing him to understand your exact goals for the procedure and what an ideal nose looks like to you. (Pictures are welcome, and if you simply dislike your nose but don’t what “ideal” quite looks like for you, Dr. Vila can certainly help.)
    2. Dermal fillers are selected as to what works best for you and your goals.
    3. A topical anesthetic is applied to reduce pain and discomfort from the procedure itself. Many dermal fillers also have an anesthetic of their own.
    4. Strategic placement of dermal fillers by Dr. Vila to help make your ideal nose a reality.
    5. You can resume your routine activities immediately after the procedure, being careful to follow a handful of simple but important recovery guidelines.
